Discover scuba diving around South Lombok! Scuba diving South Gili Islands
every diver can find his dive adventure: from relaxed diving at the southern
Gilis up to exciting “adrenaline dives” in Belongas Bay while diving the Magnet.
South Lombok is a highlight for every scuba diver and offers many dive sites
for all levels of experience!
Until recently, south Lombok was known mostly
to surfers, who enjoy the fantastic reef breaks around the southern coastline and
for the moment diving the southern Gilis is still an insider tip amongst the
diving community. Apart from the diving it’s also still one of the most
beautiful places for enjoying a relaxed tropical vacation with breathtaking
sunset views and relaxing walks on the beach.
The southern Gilis are uncommon among the
other dive locations around Lombok. Here one still finds diving as a distinct
experience and exclusive dive sites with the chance to explore undiscovered
waters. These new dive sites offer even the well-traveled and experienced diver
a surprising and breathtaking experience, and due to the great variety of dive
sites, there is exciting diving for all levels of training.
The south Gili dive sites reflect a good
cross-section of what Indonesia has to offer. One can dive in and be fascinated
by turtles, white tip reef sharks, cuttlefish, moray eels and much more. The
south Lombok dive sites offer even the widely traveled and experienced diver a
surprising and breathtaking experience, as well as offer fun diving for
families and beginner.
South Gili dive sites, such as "The
Lighthouse" or "Stairs to Medang" offer pristine reefs, and are
popular with trevallies, barracudas and white tip reef sharks. On the other
hand, dive sites like Gili Renggit are made up of massive soft coral growth and
are a paradise for macro photographers. The great variety of dive sites will
become obvious when taking a dive at Batu Gendang or Batu Mandi where you
experience a landscape of boulders covered with massive corals and you are
surrounded by sweet lips, napoleon fish, rays and much more.
